Dave Rogers has been a friend of ours for years. It was great when he'd come by and hang out at our house and really awesome when he'd join us up at The ROCC to hang out with everyone there. His stories of all his adventures kept everyone laughing and amazed at the same time. Dave went through his struggles as many of us have. He knew that our group with Hopedealers at The ROCC was a community that no matter what, always welcomed him, loved him, and accepted him no matter what. Like many others, Dave was able to find a safe place where judgment and labels ceased to exist. He knew he could be part of our community where everybody knew his name and smiled with him. We will miss you Dave. Rest in Peace brother. You were lovable and loved by many. Peace and hugs and love to his mother Jean, his sister Stephanie, his stepdad Jim, and his furbaby Lexi. You will be missed by many. His family has asked that in lieu of flowers, you consider a donation to keep our community center running so that many others can experience the unconditional love and support that Dave experienced.

It is with deep sadness that my mom, Jean Rogers (Erickson), and I share that my brother, David Wilson Rogers, had a heart attack and passed away on April 11, 2022.
The world has lost a hilarious comedian and talented artist and landscaper. He loved to spend time outside and especially to be near or on the water.
He loved his dog, Lexie, more than anything and always called her his therapy dog. Now Lexie lives here with me in Oklahoma City and I’m grateful to have her as MY therapy dog!
While David never married, he had several long term relationships and loved children. He used to joke that he would pay for the kids to go to daycare and by the time they got into elementary school, the relationship would have changed. One of the kids he helped to raise looked so much like him that people often thought he was David’s son.
David and I were extremely close, especially when we were little. One of my favorite stories to tell is how when I was a baby he tried to flush me down the toilet saying “baby go potty” - he claims he was trying to potty train me!
Even though we grew up mostly in Georgia, we were both born in upstate NY. David always tried to convince people he was from New York City with his “city-slicker” accent. From the first time he went to NYC, he fell in love with Wall Street, limos, and the NY Yankees.
We invite you to join us for David’s Celebration of Life service on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Darby Funeral Home in Canton, GA. We will greet visitors between noon-2pm and the service will start at 2pm. We will host a picnic immediately following the service.
Please read David’s obituary here for all of the service details: https://www.darbyfuneralhome.com/obit.../David-Rogers-31/...
